Vascular Rehabilitation
If you have circulation problems or know that you are at risk for vascular disease, you may find exercise a bit intimidating. You want to improve your health, but how can you know you are exercising safely and making the right lifestyle changes? That's where the Jobst Vascular Rehabilitation Program comes in. We designed this program around two primary components: education and exercise. Our rehabilitation program is especially beneficial to patients who have experienced the following:
- Leg pain with walking (intermittent claudication)
- Peripheral arterial disease (PAD)
- Angioplasty or stent placement
- Arterial bypass surgery
The program is also advantageous to those at high risk for developing vascular disease, such as patients with diabetes or high cholesterol, or those who smoke.
When you participate in the Jobst Vascular Rehabilitation Program, a team of specially trained and qualified clinicians will work with you to provide education information tailored specifically to you. Our team will help you learn about vascular diseases, nutrition, exercise, and practical dietary counseling. We can also help counsel you about smoking cessation.
Supervised exercise sessions are held two days per week in the rehabilitation exercise facility. A customized program is designed for each individual based on age, ability, medical condition and prognosis. When you participate in the rehabilitation program, you will leave the program confident in your ability to exercise safely at home, yet knowledgeable about any restrictions that may apply.
If you think the Jobst Vascular Rehabilitation Program is right for you or have questions about it, please contact the vascular rehab office at 419-291-5597 or send an email. Your physician can also call to refer you to the program.
