For Our Patients
ProMedica's Mission is to improve your health and well-being. And we at ProMedica Toledo Children's Hospital take that pledge very seriously.
We are a 151-bed facility that caters to the hospitalization needs of children and adolescents. In fact, we are the region's only hospital exclusively for children accredited by the Joint Commission. We offer a 60-bed newborn intensive care unit that has individual patient rooms designed to mimic the sheltered environment of a mother's womb. We also care for pediatric cancer patients in our state-of-the-art - yet fun and whimsical - Debbie Brass Children's Cancer Center.
ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital’s Award-Winning Cancer Care

The recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award by the American Cancer of Surgeons (ACoS), ProMedica Bixby Hospital proudly maintains a set of standards that are centered on the individual, and intended to ensure high quality care for all of our cancer patients. ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital is certified through the Survivorship Training and Rehab (STAR) Program.
Chefs for Children
Please join us on Thursday, August 28, 2014 for Chefs for Children, a community collaboration for health, education and creativity. Proceeds support ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital, the Northwest Ohio Scholarship Fund and The Arts Commission.
Parent Mentor Program
Parent Mentors may provide emotional support, guidance and information to a parent that may be experiencing a difficult time. The program provides the opportunity for parents to ask questions of someone who has dealt with similar issues. This type of interaction has been proven to make parents feel more comfortable, empowered and not alone.
Pierce: A Christmas Miracle
After 38 weeks of a healthy pregnancy, Kari Strausbaugh and Grahame Burrow looked forward to meeting their little Pierce. They never guessed they would come close to missing that chance.
“It was a busy day and we were running errands, but it dawned on me that the baby wasn’t moving,” recalled Kari.
When it comes to treating children, physicians must take many factors into consideration. Even in the most stressful emergency treatment situations, pediatric patients can be made to feel comfortable in their surroundings. That’s why we have a dedicated children’s ER at Toledo Children's Hospital. If your child is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 right away.
