Personal items other than a gown, robe, slippers and toiletry articles are not needed while staying in the hospital. Hospital safety deposit boxes are available; however, it is recommended that all valuables be sent home with a friend or relative. Dentures, glasses and hearing aids are vital for many patients. All ProMedica campuses, including Toledo Hospital are tobacco free, indoors and outdoors. This includes our lawns, walkways, sidewalks, parking lots (including inside vehicles), and any other grounds that ProMedica maintains. As a courtesy, please also be considerate of our neighbors, avoiding littering and loitering on properties that surround our campus.
Telephone Service & Cell Phones
To make sure our patients receive proper rest, incoming phone calls may be received from 7:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. Outgoing calls can be made at any time. Patients may place local outgoing calls at no charge. Long-distance calls should be charged to a credit card, calling card or home telephone number. Cell phones may be used in all public areas of the hospital including hallways, lobbies, public waiting areas and the cafeteria. However, cell phones are not allowed within six feet of medical equipment or in nonpublic restricted areas such as intensive care units, surgery, recovery and the lab.
Television service at Toledo Hospital is free of charge to patients, and channel guides are available in each room. The television programming provided consists of local cable, health education programming and Toledo Hospital video programming.
Rest is an important part of care and recovery. We understand, however, that a limited number of visitors helps make a hospital stay a more pleasant experience. Unless the physician does not recommend visitors or the patient prefers not to have visitors, Toledo Hospital has a flexible visiting hour policy. Please check unit postings, ask a nurse or visit the information desk for unit visiting hours.
