Rest is an important part of your care. But, we know that family and friends can help make your hospital stay more pleasant. Unless the physician does not recommend visitors or the patient prefers not to have visitors, ProMedica Toledo Hospital has a flexible visiting hour policy. Please check the unit posting or ask a nurse for that unit’s visiting hours.
All ProMedica campuses, including ProMedica Toledo Hospital, are tobacco free, indoors and outdoors. This includes our lawns, walkways, sidewalks, parking lots (including inside vehicles) and any other grounds that ProMedica maintains. As a courtesy, please also be considerate of our neighbors and avoid littering and loitering on properties that surround our campus.

Please tell us if you or your family has questions or concerns about your care or stay. A patient representative will work with you until your questions and concerns are resolved. ProMedica Toledo Hospital offers free translation services in many languages free of charge – including, but not limited to, Spanish, Russian, Mandarin Chinese, German, Polish, Arabic and Vietnamese.
Toledo Hospital has a video-based interpreter service which is available around the clock. This system is call MARTTI (My Accessible Real-Time Trusted Interpreter). It helps us enhance our patient interpretation services by gaining critical information in a timely fashion which directly improves patient care.
To request an interpreter, or to order or schedule MARTI, please call 419-291-4007 between 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday. At other times, call the hospital operator at 419-291-4000.
We realize that one of the first things most people think about when they are admitted to the hospital is going home. Getting you well enough to go home is our goal, too. When it’s time to go, please remember: to make sure you have all of your personal belongings and to tell your nurse if you need help arranging transportation.
Our team is with you through every step of the healing process. To ensure that you receive seamless care even after your discharge from the hospital, our social worker/discharge planner may work with your nurse and doctor to arrange continuing care services such as home health care, skilled nursing or hospice care. Paying Your Bill
ProMedica Toledo Hospital actively works to contain costs while providing quality care. To achieve this goal, patients are responsible for paying copayments, deductibles or fees for non-covered services at the time of service.
Your bill will reflect the cost of your room, nursing care, meals, housekeeping, linens, tests, medical or surgical procedures, drugs, supplies, and special services such as physical or respiratory therapy. These charges do not include the professional services of your physician, surgeon, anesthetist, or other consultants. Some of these services must be paid to the individual physician offices and not to the hospital.
The hospital provides basic, medically necessary services free of charge to patients who are eligible for the Hospital Care Assurance Program (HCAP). In addition to HCAP, uninsured patients are eligible for the ProMedica Financial Assistance Program. Patients are responsible for paying co-payments, deductibles or fees for non-covered services at the time of service. Toledo Hospital accepts cash, check/money order, and credit and debit cards including VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
