Cancer Care (Oncology)
Oncology physicians at ProMedica St. Luke’s Hospital realize that cancer is as genetically different in each patient as a fingerprint. The goal of the cancer program at St. Luke’s Hospital is to provide excellence in all aspects of cancer care—and to provide each patient with the individualized treatment plan that will yield the best results. St. Luke’s Hospitals' specially trained oncology staff makes sure that people with cancer, along with their families, receive the most compassionate care, the latest information, and the most reliable access to community services.
The Northwest Ohio Oncology Center
The Northwest Ohio Oncology Center, located on the campus of St. Luke's Hospital, houses some of the most advanced technologies in the fight against cancer. The center offers the latest in radiation and chemotherapy techniques, including intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), a treatment that targets cancerous cells while sparing as many healthy cells as possible.
St. Luke's Hospital hosts a prostate cancer support group called Man to Man on the second Thursday of each month. The group is open to prostate cancer survivors and their family members. For more information about Man to Man, call 419-893-5921.
Emergency Services
An emergency can be something small, such as a cut needing stitches, or something life-threatening, like a heart attack. No matter what your emergency is, St. Luke’s staff is prepared to handle it with compassion and efficiency. Family Birthing Center
The Family Birthing Center at St. Luke's Hospital offers comprehensive maternity care with an emphasis on family. Gastroenterology
If you have a digestive, nutritional, or liver problem, you can rely on the help of a gastroenterologist to diagnose and treat your condition. St. Luke’s Hospital was one of the first in the country to use the Bravo pH monitoring system, a diagnostic test for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
Heart Care
The Heart Center at ProMedica St. Luke’s Hospital provides access to cardiac procedures that help you monitor and maintain your heart health. Radiology / Imaging Services
Radiology and imaging services are crucial to diagnosing diseases and helping your physician create a treatment plan for you. When you have imaging services done at St. Luke’s Hospital or any of its sattelite locations, you can be confident that you are receiving services from a leader in diagnostic technology. Our radiology department offers state-of-the-art magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) imaging, as well as two computed tomography (CT) scanners, ultrasound and nuclear imaging. Stereotactic mammographic biopsy, an advanced yet minimally invasive diagnostic test for breast cancer, also is performed. Shots for Tots
This program provides immunizations for area children. Also, pre-adolescent shots are available. No appointments are necessary. Each shot costs $5. Some insurance billing is provided by the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department (TLCHD). Each shot cost $5.
