Pain Clinic

Conveniently located on the campus of St. Luke’s Hospital, the Pain Clinic at ProMedica St. Luke’s Hospital was established to help those living with chronic pain. It offers evaluation and treatment for conditions including back pain, herniated discs, neck and shoulder pain, muscle and joint pain, nerve pain and shingles.

Using a team approach that involves nurses, specialists, therapists and your family doctor, anesthesiologists Elizabeth Fowler, MD, and Patrick Schafer, MD, work with you and your family to create a plan of care. Developed just for you, the course of treatment is designed to help relieve your pain, teach you how to manage your pain, and help you restore your quality of life.

In a supportive, compassionate environment, the clinic offers a range of treatment options for patients including:

  • Pain evaluations and diagnostic testing
  • Nerve blocks
  • Pain blocks
  • Epidural injections
  • Trigger point injections
  • Use of physical, occupational and psychological therapies
  • Consultation with your primary care physician to recommend a medication routine that manages your pain effectively
