Toledo Children's Hospital Quality Reports

Toledo Children’s Hospital Quality Highlights

ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital, dedicated to the care and service of children, is a licensed, 151-bed facility with Joint Commission accreditation. The hospital provides specialized emergency services with onsite emergency medicine pediatricians and nurses trained to care for children.

In 2006, Toledo Children’s Hospital (TCH) received the Ohio Partnership for Excellence (OPE) Silver Level Award for demonstrating a serious commitment to excellence and a process for continuous improvement. Based on criteria of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the OPE recognized TCH as the first children’s hospital to receive the honor since the award process was established in 2000.

The Cullen Center—a widely recognized Toledo Children’s Hospital clinic that uses evidenced-based, trauma-focused interventions to treat children and families who have experienced traumatic events—received Behavioral Health Accreditation by The Joint Commission for providing optimal care and services to its patients.

The Cystic Fibrosis Center at Toledo Children’s Hospital and Toledo Hospital is recognized and accredited by the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. As a federally designated Cystic Fibrosis Center, it follows strict guidelines and recommendations for comprehensive medical and social services. The Center participates in national research protocols and is an accredited Research Center by the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

The Northwest Ohio Hemophilia Treatment Center is the only federally designated hemophilia center in northwest Ohio, and has been recognized for a 40% decrease in bleeding-related mortalities. The Center is recognized for providing comprehensive medical care and psychological support to the hemophilia and bleeding disorder population in 27 counties throughout northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan.
