The NICU Medical Team

Babies in the NICU need constant monitoring and 24-hour care from a variety of health care professionals. This multidisciplinary team also works to guide and support you through this difficult transition.

Neonatologist

Neonatologists are pediatric doctors who are specially trained in the care of sick and premature newborns. They are available for consultation during the pregnancy and at the time of delivery, if needed. They are present in the NICU 24 hours per day to provide routine and emergency care for your baby. Your neonatologist will ensure your baby receives the necessary care to help him or her develop.

Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

A neonatal nurse practitioner is a registered nurse who is specially trained (masters level prepared) in the care of sick and premature newborns. They are available 24 hours per day to provide routine and emergency care for your baby.
