My Journey Bead Program

Children who are diagnosed with cancer experience a unique journey of challenges and joys. The My Journey bead program helps children tell their story using colored beads as meaningful symbols of the many steps taken throughout the course of treatment.

When the child begins cancer treatment, the child is given a length of twine strung with beads that spell their first name. Children then receive different colored beads that acknowledge every moment in their journey including procedures, chemotherapy, surgery, and many other significant milestones.

Support My Journey

The My Journey bead program has been funded through the generous support of ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital Foundation. There is no cost to the child to participate in the program
