ProMedica Medical Oncologists
Medical oncologists are physicians who are specially trained in chemotherapy. Your medical oncologist will inform you about medications, their expected effectiveness and their potential side effects. He or she will also let you know if there are any clinical trials that are appropriate for you and counsel you in your decision about potentially participating in a clinical trial.
William Horvath, MD, FACP
Board-certified medical oncologist/hematologist, William Horvath, MD, FACP, is a member of ProMedica Hematology/Oncology Associates. He is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine, completed his residency and internship at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and completed his fellowship at University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Horvath is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and has privileges at Toledo Hospital, Flower Hospital, Defiance Regional Hospital, and Fostoria Community Hospital.

ProMedica Certified Nurse Practitioners
Certified nurse practitioners are registered nurses with advanced education and clinical training. They collaborate with medical oncologists to provide care throughout cancer treatment. Your nurse practioner will prescribe and manage medications, order and interpret laboratory tests, and educate you and your family on various treatment options and support services.
Bonnie Brahaney, CNP
A member of ProMedica Hematology/Oncology Associates, Bonnie Brahaney, CNP, OCN, is a board-certified nurse practitioner and oncology nurse. She received both her master’s and bachelor’s degree in nursing from The University of Toledo College of Nursing.
Kimberly Bruhl, OACNP
Kimberly Bruhl, OACNP, is a member of ProMedica Hematology/Oncology Associates and a board-certified advanced oncology nurse practitioner. She received her master’s degree in nursing from The University of Toledo College of Nursing, and her bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University.
ProMedica Surgical Oncologist
Surgical oncologists are specialized surgeons that focus the removal of cancerous tumors and tissue from the body. Before that happens, though, a surgeon reviews your test results and then decides whether an operation is a recommended treatment for your cancer.
Michael D. McPhee, MD, FACS
Michael D. McPhee, MD, FACS, is a board-certified general surgeon/surgical oncologist and is a member of ProMedica Physicians. He is a graduate of SUNY Health Science Center, and completed his residency at Westchester County Medical Center and his fellowship at Rowell Park Cancer Institute. Dr. McPhee is a comprehensive cancer surgeon, but specializes in breast, colorectal, esophageal, liver, melanoma, and pancreatic cancers. Jamie L. Dargart, MD, is board-certified in pediatrics and is a member of ProMedica Physicians. Dagmar T. Stein, MD, PhD, a member of ProMedica Physicians, is a board-certified pediatric hematologist/oncologist and is the director of the pediatric hematology/oncology program at the Toledo Children’s Hospital and the Northwest Ohio Hemophilia Center. Dr. Stein completed her fellowship at the National Cancer Institute and her residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She also completed a pediatric internship at UCLA and received her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University. ProMedica Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioners are caretakers, educators and care coordinators. They often collaborate with other members of your child’s care team and help them communicate with one another about your child’s treatment. Pediatric nurse practitioners will help guide you and your family through your child’s cancer journey and even act as a liaison to help your child return to school.

Liz Musolf, CPNP, is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner and certified pediatric oncology nurse licensed in Ohio. Liz completed a post-master’s pediatric nurse practitioner program at the University of Michigan and received her master’s degree in nursing from the University of Toledo College of Nursing.
