The EC was recognized for demonstrating improvements in several measures including an average 30 minutes or less wait time to see a physician. As a result of the reduced wait time, the overall length of stay in the EC has also decreased. The EC has received positive feedback from patients and families and has seen an 18% increase in their census over the past 2 years. The EC rates better than the national benchmark (less than 1% for the past 2 years) in minimizing the number of patients who leave without being seen.
“We are extremely proud of our EC and their accomplishments,” says Alan Sattler, president, ProMedica Flower Hospital. “With hard work and determination we have been able to streamline our process and increase patient satisfaction.”
