ProMedica Wellness focuses on providing services to improve health and promote wellness. Health education and health screening programs are available in community settings as well as for clients in worksite settings. Health education programs available include: CPR, first aid, heart health, nutrition, fitness and exercise, cancer prevention, smoking cessation, weight management and stress management. Health screenings and clinics available include: flu vaccinations, health risk appraisals as well as cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure screenings.
ProMedica CPR Rescue Training Center
According to the American Heart Association (AHA), approximately 92% of sudden cardiac arrest victims die before reaching the hospital. However, statistics show that if more people knew cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), more lives could be saved. Immediate CPR can double, or even triple, a victim’s chance of survival. ProMedica is proud to offer three AHA-approved emergency cardiovascular care programs. These include Basic Life Support (BLS) classes and CPR courses for the public and for healthcare professionals as well as pediatric advanced life support (PALS) and advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) classes for current healthcare providers.
American Red Cross Blood Drives
Several ProMedica hospitals host American Red Cross Blood Drives throughout the year. To learn more about the potential blood drives in your community, visit the Community Health & Wellness page of the ProMedica hospital near you. Learn more about giving blood through the Red Cross at www.redcrossblood.org.
