Our 2013 Annual Wine Event will benefit ProMedica Hospice and Diabetes Care – this is a first class, annual fundraising event conducted by community volunteers and the ProMedica Physician’s and Continuum Services Foundation staff to support the efforts of ProMedica Hospice and Diabetes Care. The 2013 event will feature glorious culinary creations from Evans Street Station and exquisite wines at the home of Randy and Barbara Oostra. The evening will also include stunning auction items and top-notch entertainment.
Event proceeds will be designated toward financial assistance for ProMedica Hospice and Diabetes Care services. This includes in-home Hospice Care, the Ebeid Hospice Residence, and our campaign for the new ProMedica Mary Ellen Falzone Diabetes Center.
ProMedica Hospice celebrates life by helping each patient live his or her last days to the fullest. Patients and staff of the Ebeid Hospice Residence benefit from the building’s environmentally friendly design. The residence is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified, which means a healthier and more comfortable environment.
ProMedica Hospice’s Ebeid Hospice Residence is a state-of-the-art, 12 private room, free-standing hospice residence that offers access to hospice care close to home for the Sylvania, west Toledo and southeast Michigan community and its surrounding areas.
The ProMedica Mary Ellen Falzone Diabetes Center will offer a full complement of Diabetes Care and Education for our ProMedica community. Throughout our service area, care is segmented with the focus on managing the disease growth. The ProMedica Mary Ellen Falzone Diabetes Center will concentrate on research along with reducing the diabetic growth rate per year through education and medication management. ProMedica has always offered several different diabetes services, but for the first time, those services will be systematically operated from a single location for the convenience of our patients.
