Fostoria Community Hospital Hosts Healthy Cooking Demonstration
posted on: 08/20/2013FOSTORIA, OHIO, July 31, 2013 – As part of ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital’s “Eat with an Expert” Lunch n’ Learn series, A Healthy Cooking Demonstration and More! is a special summer program focused on providing the community with important information to help improve their health and well-being.
The first event will be held Tues., Aug. 6, 6 – 8 p.m., at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1200 Van Buren St., Fostoria.
Local Dietitian Diane Yoakam, RD, LD, nutrition services, ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital, will be the featured speaker on “Quick and Healthy Lunch Box (or on-the-go) Ideas.” She will be preparing six recipes, sharing health tips and answering nutrition-related questions for those in attendance.
Attendees will receive a complimentary gift bag with coupons and give away items, light refreshments, bone density screenings, and information about various local programs, physicians and services. Participants will also have a chance to register to win several door prizes, including a Vera Bradley™ purse, unique cooking utensils and more.
In addition, Wesley Center Daycare and Preschool is offering their services free of charge to parents who wish to participate in the event. During the event, children one and up are eligible to participate in supervised “play time” at Wesley Center. Healthy snacks and activities will be provided.
