The ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital Foundation has initiated a scholarship program and is offering scholarships to area high school seniors and college students from the area that plan to work in a hospital setting in the future.
Scholarships are available in increments of $500 and $1,000 depending on the amount of funds available and level of higher-education attended. Applications must be received by April 12, 2013.
Students that live in or graduated from any of the following school districts may apply for the scholarship: Ayersville Local, Northwestern Local, Defiance City, Central Local, Holgate Local, Paulding Exempted, Continental Local, Stryker Local, Bryan City, Archbold Local or Napoleon City School District.
Students who apply their senior year of high school are eligible to apply annually during their college studies provided they meet eligibility requirements. Applicants for 2013 must be a high school senior or a full-time college student that either graduated or will graduate from one of the aforementioned school districts.
The scholarship award will be based on school GPA, community, civic and leadership activities, test scores and financial need. Applicants will also be asked to write short statements about why they are interested in the health care field and what experiences they have had to affirm their interest.
