Losing a family member or friend is difficult, but you don’t have to go through it alone. ProMedica offers several support groups and services to help you through the grieving process. We help connect you with trained counselors and others who have or are going through your situation. Whether your loved one’s death was expected or sudden, we’re here to help you through the grieving process. Groups are open to anyone in the community, even if you or your loved one received care from somewhere else. Please see the list below for a list of our bereavement support groups and services.

Companions on a Journey
This support group is for adults who have experienced a loss. The group meets the second Thursday of every month from 6:30 – 8 p.m. Please contact Robert Beisser at 419-824-7400 to register or to learn more.
Hope for the Holidays
This is a support group for adults who are coping with loss during the holidays. It is offered on select days in November and December. Please call ProMedica Hospice at 419-824-7400 to learn more.
Caring And Restoring Each other (CARE) offers support for families who have experienced a miscarriage, still birth or death of a baby during their first few months of life. The group meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in ProMedica Toledo Hospital’s Education Center. Please call 419-291-9475 to learn more.
Choosing Hope and Moving Past Sadness (CHAMPS) is a program designed to help kids ages six and up, and their parents/guardians, cope with a loved one’s death. The program is offered in two formats: a two-day summer camp and evening sessions on the first Thursday of each month from 6 – 7 p.m. An adult must accompany the child to the evening support group and are encouraged to participate in their own support group held during the same time. In addition to these support groups, ProMedica Hospice offers individualized support to help you through the grieving process. Our bereavement coordinators can offer support through phone calls or home visits. If the need arises, referrals to other outside agencies can be made.
